Cycling
For those who are feeling more energetic, enjoy a number of pursuits. The Creuse area is known for its walking and cycling. There are 11 cycling associations.

Skiing and Walking
If you like mountains and high ground, then we have this nearby too. Only about an hour away is the Massif Central. This offers winter skiing at affordable prices, summer walks and a fascinating museum about Volcanoes.

Horse riding
The national Stud at Pompadour allows visitors to view the stallions. broodmares and foals. There are racing events with various displays, parades and competitions during the year.

Boating and Windsurfing.
Further afield is the wonderful Lac de Vassiviere, described as an Inland Sea. Here you have many choices of water pursuits from a boat cruise to windsurfing. Alternatively visit the museum on it's island

Water
For those who like water, look no further. This part of France is full of magnificent rivers and lakes. Nearly every village has an Etange (translated as pond) when in fact these are man made lakes offering a choice of things to do.
